St George’s Day Church Parade for Scouts, Cubs, Guides, Brownies and Rovers.
Focus on the environment asking Australia to “do our best “and stop the Adani Coal Mine.
The Australian Government is in danger of helping to damage best outcomes for those in India and Australia ,damage our environment and St George’s Day when international scouting movement highlights the need for real action to come to the rescue of the planet, Albury looks to the need for action “in our own back yard” and the local and international threat that ADANI poses.
Adani’s Carmichael mine is not the answer for those living without electricity in India. It will further pollute the air they breathe and the water they drink.
It will cause dangerous climate change and extreme weather that always affects the poorest first.
Australia’s coal will make their lives harder in the long run .
St Matthew’s will host speakers explaining the issues to children and parents and showing how we can help.
The project is an affront to care of the environment, care of people and every religious tradition that calls for responsible action toward our neighbours and ourselves.
All invited, all welcome.
