St. Matthew’s Livestream Service – 24 November 2024

This service celebrates the 30th anniversary of the rebuilding of St. Matthew’s Church in Albury after it was destroyed by fire in 1991. The community came together to rebuild the church, creating a lasting legacy for future generations. The service acknowledges the turbulent world we live in and prays for peace, while also recognising the contributions of local farmers, defence forces, and healthcare workers. The service also includes a reflection on the Feast of Christ the King and the tradition of “Stir Up Sunday” when Christmas puddings were made. It also features a short video chronicling the rebuilding of St. Matthew’s, highlighting the community’s strength, resilience, and vision for the future. The service concludes with prayers for Ukraine, the Holy Land, and other troubled areas, as well as for those in need and the recently bereaved.
